PDFgeni: EBook Search Engine

PDFgeni is a simple online EBook search engine. By using it, you can search for free PDFs available over world wide web. The advantage of using PDFgeni is that it only provides your with PDFs and nothing else. On the other hand a normal search engine fails in delivering that kind of refined search results. Even the mighty Goggle search engine is not an exception. Instead of having to to search links & webpages PDFgeni EBook search engine lets you find PDFs in a very convenient & straightforward manner.

Online registration is not mandatory for getting started with PDFgeni. If you are interested in creating an index of EBooks for online reading then it will be a nice idea to register beforehand. On your visit to homepage you will be provided with following interface.

Finding Free PDFs on PDFgeni:

In the mid section is a search box for entering your query.

  • Type/paste the query in the textbox and click on ‘Search’ button.

  • Next, you can click on the link. On doing so you will be taken to the preview page from where you can add the book you reading list by clicking on ‘add to  your account’ link. It is from the very same page you will be able to view/download the original PDF file.

Limitations Of PDFgeni As EBook Search Engine:

It is to be taken in consideration that PDFgeni is still in beta stage and might not be able to deliverer relevant results in a few cases. Well! in such situation you can opt to use any traditional search engine or utilize Scribd, which is a well renounced online platform for hosting, searching and reading EBooks.

Web2PDF and PDFMyUrl are the two interesting applications that allow you to convert online webpages to PDF in a quick and convenient manner.

The Final Verdict:

PDFgeni appears offering nothing out of box, but is a nice online utility. It only performs one thing i.e. searches for PDF files. If you have such requirement then consider giving it a try …
